Molokai's North Coast

The North Coast of Molokai is where one can find coffee farms and an explosion of flowers.

The lush tropical foliage ends abruptly at the world's tallest seacliffs, which plummet 3,250 feet into the ocean. Kayaking along the coast is a wonderful experience, but should be limited to the calmer summer months.

The northern penninsula (called 'the thumb') is a national historical park. Kalaupapa was once a compound for victims of Hansens Disease, commonly known as leprosy. Father Damien Van Veuster devoted his life to the care of the suffering, and eventually died of the disease himself.
