"Take me directly to the hotels!"

Molokai has a sampling of lodging and accommodations, but what is on the least developed of the accessible islands is well worth the trip! Molokai island's lodging consists of exotic condos, a few venerable hotels, a luxury resort, hotels so historied as to be a tradition of themselves, and a smattering of private cottages and Bed and Breakfasts. In all of these places you will find Old Hawaii and the meaning of the aloha spirit. Come in, relax, and prepare to be charmed!

Each section of Molokai has its own personality, its own opportunities, and different permanent climates and terrain! Moving as little as a mile can mean entering into a completely different permanent climate! To the east the land is lush and wet. You can drive from one end of Molokai to the other on route 46, and watch the land get lusher and greener as you skirt the tremendous Molokai Forest Reserve.

This online vacation travel guide to Molokai is unique in that its listings are all free. We offer the full spectrum of lodgings so travelers will find larger companies & Mom-and-Pops on the same page.

To the west, the land is drier and is where most visitors to Molokai visit. Working ranches offer mule rides, tours, and lodgings. This is where the hula was born, where some of the best coffee in the world is grown, and where tourists are friends. Walk the dunes at Moomomi, view the highest sea cliffs in the world, hike the Pepeopae trail, take a mule ride down the cliffs to Kalaupapa, or take a dawn walk along Paohaku beach. At over 3 miles long, it is one of the longest in the islands!

Molokai is home of the famous Kalaupapa Penninsula, a national historic park! This is where Father Damien devoted his life to the comfort and healing of a colony of victims of Hansen's Disease (leprosy), eventually contracting the condition himself. While the disease is now treatable and the people are gone, the churches, houses, and hospitals built by Father Damien survive to today. The story of Father Damien is known through out the world.

Molokai is the fifth largest, and least traveled of the available Hawaiian Islands. It is a place apart, where no building is taller than a coconut tree, and there are no traffic lights. Hawaiian culture is alive in Molokai, the hula was born here, and the aloha spirit of the natives has given a name to the land itself... the 'friendly isle'. Molokai is truly a land of peace! free map with a room or car

There is much to see in Molokai. In Molokai, you can whale watch, dive on the only barrier reef in the Hawaiian islands, sip locally grown fresh coffee, ride horses at the largest working ranch in the islands, see the highest seacliffs in the world, and explore a living rainforest. You can stay in resort luxury for championship golf, or 'go native' at one of the many cottages and Bed and Breakfasts. All on an island only 38 miles long and 10 miles wide!
